Digital Brilliance are:

Colin Low

Colin studied physics in West Australia and astrophysics in Cambridge before moving into the computer industry in 1976. He has worked as a consultant, an academic, and as an industrial researcher, and has considerable experience in managing large distributed systems and UNIX servers. He has taught postgraduate level courses in Distributed Systems for the University of London, and given commercial training in computer communications. Colin comments:

"The World Wide Web is so revolutionary people are still working out how to use it effectively. It isn't just a new way to do old things - it's a new way to do new things, and we haven't begun to understand its potential. There are going to be new businesses, new hobbies, new products, new forms of leisure and entertainment - the list is endless. Today a Web page is just a flat magazine page with hyperlinks, but the first 3D virtual reality pages are already appearing, and William Gibson's vision of cyberspace is being created at a furious pace by some of the most clever and energetic people around. The WWW is the place to be."

Jan Swanson

Jan trained as a teacher and specialised in art, but she enjoyed the art so much she went on to take a degree in graphic arts and industrial design. She has considerable experience in layout and magazine design and has worked as art editor of a large circulation magazine. Jan comments:

"Page design has gone from hot metal to photo setting to computer layout in the blink of an eye, but the need for good design hasn't changed and is as important as it ever was. Web pages have more limitations than traditional printing, but that is changing rapidly and I don't think it will be long before the Web becomes the most exciting medium there is. It is a fantastic opportunity and it is great to be a part of it."
