I mean it. Dozens of them. For most
of these villages a mention in this list would be a fate worse than death. They are on tiny little country lanes in out-of-the-way
places and the people who live there choose to live there because no one goes there.
Here is a short list of some beautiful Cotswold villages:
In my (prejudiced and opinionated) mind the civilized way to see this part of the Cotswolds is on foot or on bicycle. It is civilized because it is unintrusive, and there is no point in going to see something unspoiled if you are going to intrude all over it - to coin a phrase. Of course, one would hope that the inhabitants appreciate this courtesy and don't mow you down as they fly past in their Range Rovers, Jeep Cherokees and Mitsubishi Shoguns. Hmmm....
The villages on this list already have more cars driving through them than any sleepy little village should. A pity. There are many ways to see a place.
